Prompts

A prompt is the information given to an Artificial Intelligence system that acts as a guide to the users wishes. There are two kinds of prompts on Red Quill: writing prompts and image prompts.

Writing Prompts

A writing prompt can be anything from no text to a long, detailed, moment-to-moment guide. Prompt writing is more art than science.

Tips for Crafting Writing Prompts

• In general, the more detail you give the AI to work with, the closer your chapter will be to your idea. With that said, any time you can, let the AI work on it's own. Remember it is trained on a vast ocean of fiction, both smutty and clean, across multiple languages. It knows what it's doing. View yourself not as an author, but as a film director.
• If something is not important to the story or your vision, don't include it in the prompt. If it doesn't matter that the car is red, leave that out. Extra details will just add work that doesn't matter.

Image Prompts

An image prompt is what is used by the AI to generate a new cover for the story. If the prompt is left blank, the AI will read the story description and attempt to create an image based on that.

Tips for Crafting Image Prompts

• Include anything that you absolutely must have, but leave out things that would be nice but aren't necessary. The AI will often surprise you with serendipitous creations. It is at its best when it can do its thing, within the constraints you give it.
